Level: Beginner
Participants will learn about the basic techniques of the camera, photographic materials, processes, and the history and development of photography. With an emphasis on personal vision, participants will develop technological skills, understand basic photographic theory, personal aesthetics, and critical thinking about photography. As a shooting based course, participants will become proficient in using a DSLR camera (digital-single lens reflex) and/or any camera students have available. Participants will edit images in software editing programs, and critique their peers’ work weekly. Participants will walk away with a thoughtful, succinct photographic body of work that they will present along with a written artist statement.
