Hey there,
I’m Jeanette, a New York City based educator and artist. I’ve been teaching art courses to PreK – 12 students, and adults for over 10 years.
I began my teaching career working as a Teaching Artist at public, private and charter schools across all 5 boroughs in NYC. I taught photography courses, the history of painting and drawing, collage, social justice based mural making and puppetry, to name a few!
When I was the Lead Teaching Artist at The Children’s Museum of the Arts I taught introductory workshops in animation, photography and clay-making to visiting school classes, and at summer camps on Governors Island, with students K-18. I also have worked as an instructor for art and community centers such as Abrons Art Center and 92nd Street Y.
I have also been adjunct faculty in the art and photography departments at The School of Visual Arts, The College of Staten Island, Pratt Institute teaching High School in the Pre-College Program, and The College of New Jersey.
Currently, I am faculty at The International Center of Photography where I teach both in the One Year Certificate and Open Education Programs.
